Abigail Gutting
Born 1984 in Arizona; lives in Northern Idaho
ABIGAIL PAINTS TO PORTRAY THE CULTURE AND WILDLIFE OF THE AMERICAN WEST. Gutting’s artistic practice begun at a young age, when her mother allowed her to work alongside in her painting studio. Her mother, Susan Gutting, trained as an artist at the American Academy of Art in Chicago. Abigail studied via workshop instruction throughout the western United States, including the Scottsdale Artist School in Arizona. Her work has been featured in Southwest Art Magazine, Western Art and Architecture, Art of the West, Western Art Collector, and Fine Art Connoisseur Magazine. While Abigail’s love and growth as an artist is a result of her mother’s mentorship, her love of animals and the American west was fostered by her time spent working with her veterinarian father through her teens and into her early twenties. The memories from those rich experiences contribute to Gutting’s vision for her art. She looks forward to a lifetime of growth and opportunity as an artist.
