This story is one that I actually witnessed not too long ago along Moose-Wilson Road, near the base of the Teton Mountains in Jackson, WY. What struck me was the simplicity and the intimacy of the moment. People come to the Tetons from around the world to experience the immensity and grandeur of the iconic Western Mountains (and rightly so!). But tucked away in countless little pockets of woodlands and fields are the unfolding daily dramas of the animals to which Teton National Park is home. I found the smallness and the solitude of this setting to be such a beautiful contrast to what the park is known for, and I loved experiencing – almost like a meditation – that feeling of peacefulness again and again through the process of creating this painting.
