INDIANAPOLIS – The Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art is proud to announce its participation in EXPO CHICAGO Contemporary Art Fair taking place April 24-27 at Navy Pier in Chicago. This marks the museum’s first appearance at the renowned event and highlights its commitment to elevating Native voices on a global stage.

Since 2012, EXPO CHICAGO has been one of the leading contemporary art fairs in North America. The international exhibition brings together galleries, museums, curators and collectors, offering a dynamic opportunity for the public to mingle with the contemporary art world.

“We are thrilled to participate in EXPO CHICAGO this year as a way to expand the reach of the Eiteljorg Contemporary Art Fellowship,” Eiteljorg Museum President and CEO Kathryn Haigh said. “This major international platform offers a unique opportunity to spotlight the museum, elevate the voices of contemporary Native artists, and build greater awareness of our Fellowship program within the global art community.”

The Eiteljorg team will staff a booth at EXPO CHICAGO where visitors can learn about the museum and see a few works from the museum’s collections. The effort will promote the upcoming 33rd annual Eiteljorg Indian Market & Festival on June 28-29, the 20th annual Quest for the West® Art Show and Sale on Sept. 5-6, and this year’s Eiteljorg Contemporary Art Fellowship from Nov. 8, 2025-Feb. 22, 2026.

Since 1999, the biennial Eiteljorg Contemporary Art Fellowship has supported emerging and established Native contemporary artists through significant exhibitions and acquisitions. Each round, a new group of five Fellowship artists is selected. The 2025 Fellows receive a $50,000 unrestricted grant, and the museum will cumulatively purchase more than $100,000 of their collective artworks to add to its substantial collection of contemporary Native art. The 2025 Fellowship exhibition, titled Emerging Current, includes opening-weekend opportunities for the public to meet the artists. The museum also will publish a catalog about works in the exhibition. Learn more about the Eiteljorg Fellowship program at contemporaryartfellowship.eiteljorg.org.
