Eric Bowman
Born 1960 in Pasadena, California, lives in Tigard, Oregon

ERIC BOWMAN was born in Pasadena and grew up in Orange County, California. Essentially self-taught, he was always the school artist throughout his formative years, launching into the world of freelance illustration in the 1980’s. While enjoying a successful career as a commercial artist, it was a chance meeting with two prominent California painters in 1998 that changed Eric’s world view of Art and set him on a new journey into fine art painting. Since that time, Eric has developed a unique style that continues to evolve deriving inspiration from sources both contemporary and historic.

As a painter, Eric has exhibited in some of the country’s finest galleries and museums including the Autry Museum of the American West, the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum, the Briscoe Western Art Museum, the Couse-Sharp Historic Museum, the Gilcrease Museum, the Kaiping Art Museum (China), the Academy Art Museum, the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles and the Salmagundi Club in New York city. A recipient of numerous awards and recognitions, Eric’s paintings reside in private & corporate collections throughout the U.S. as well as England, Australia, China, Canada, Mexico and the West Indies. Bowman has also been profiled in feature articles with Western Art & Architecture, Southwest Art, Art of the West, Western Art Collector, International Artist, Pratique Des Arts (France), Fine Art Connoisseur and Plein Air Magazines.
