Tucker, Ezra

Ezra Tucker
Born 1955 in Memphis, Tennessee; lives in Monument, Colorado

EZRA TUCKER’S WORK is inspired by the work of classical wildlife artists like Bob Khun, Carl Rungius, Edwin Landseer, Arthur Wardle and Antoine Bayre. Tucker pulls viewers into his creations through his use of dynamic compositions, unexpected color, lighting, and scale. Ezra’s art gives dignity and presence to each subject that he depicts. His compositions are alive, animated and appear ready to step out of two dimensions into a three-dimensional world. His exceptional drawing skills reveal his acute knowledge from study of his subjects and not from a photographer’s point of view.

With a unique color palette and lighting, he achieves a romantic yet innovative look to his work. Ezra’s background as a commercial illustrator gives him the experience and knowledge of how to portray an iconic or bold narrative scene or portrait. His art is distinctive and reflective of the Golden Age of Illustrators. Ezra states, “My desire is for my art to be educational, inspirational, entertaining and to evoke an emotional response from the viewer.”

Ezra’s work is part of the permanent collections of The Booth Western Art Museum, The James Museum of Western and Wildlife Art, The Briscoe Western Museum of Art, The Chisholm Trail Heritage Museum, Anheuser – Busch, Inc., Adolf Coors, Inc., The Pentagon / United States Air Force Art Program and private and Fortune 500 corporate collections.
