STEPHANIE REVENNAUGH
Born 1973 in Ohio; lives in Livingston, Montana

STEPHANIE REVENNAUGH CREATES SCULPTURES THAT EXPLORE the meeting place between consciousness and form. Best known for her bronze representations of horses and wildlife, her work is rooted in close observation of the natural world and an enduring fascination with the emotional and energetic presence carried within living beings.

Raised across the cultural and ecological contrasts of the Midwest, Central, and South America, and now based in Montana, Revennaugh’s creative voice has been shaped by movement, landscape, and a lifelong immersion in nature. Her experience as a horsewoman informs much of her sculptural language, offering an intimate understanding of gesture, energy, and breath—subtle forms of communication that transcend words.

Working primarily in bronze while increasingly incorporating cast glass and steel, Revennaugh explores the dialogue between permanence and fragility, density and light. These materials become more than medium; they participate in an inquiry into contrast, relationship, and the unseen forces that shape experience.

Her recent work continues a longstanding exploration of equine form while expanding into a broader investigation of wildlife and inner landscape. Flow State, a dynamic equine triptych, reflects her enduring fascination with movement, athleticism, and the intimate dialogue between horse and rider. At the same time, her evolving series Wild Within explores animals as both subject and mirror. Works such as Attuning, a mule deer sculpture from the series, invite contemplation of sensitivity, awareness, and the subtle intelligence found in the natural world.

While her themes are timeless, there is a quiet modernity in her approach. Beneath the surface of each piece lies a deeper listening—an awareness of form as a vessel for emotion and of sculpture as a kind of wordless prayer. Rather than illustrating narrative directly, Revennaugh creates thresholds of experience—works that invite reflection and awaken recognition. In this way, her sculpture becomes more than depiction; it becomes a mirror for what is felt but not easily spoken, reconnecting viewers with the wild, within and without.
