Peters, Robert

Robert Peters
Born 1960 in Rochester, New York; lives in Prescott, Arizona

ROBERT PETERS is a landscape and still life painter with a career spanning more than thirty-five years. He has regularly contributed to museum exhibitions such as the Quest for the West, Prix de West, and Masters of the American West. Robert’s paintings have earned serious recognition by collectors and his works are included in numerous private, corporate, and museum collections. Robert is a former award winning freelance illustrator who was represented in New York City.

Born in upstate New York and raised in Phoenix, Arizona Robert credits his early memories of the Arizona desert with sparking a passion for the outdoors. His extensive travels throughout the American Southwest instilled a love for nature. Enthusiasm and respect for the natural world continue to be the driving forces behind his landscape paintings.

Robert’s life in the West included some time in southwestern Colorado where he and his wife, Nanette, raised paint horses. After spending a few years living on the central California coast, the couple and their two children have moved back home to the Arizona high country near Prescott. “The western landscape is an endless source of inspiration to me,” Robert says. “I draw from my own observations, which imparts an authentic and natural quality to my paintings.”
