(Ojibwe from the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians)
Born 1984 in Cheyenne, Wyoming; lives in Gering, Nebraska

BRANDON BAILEY IS A CONTEMPORARY WESTERN artist whose work is rooted in a lived understanding of the land and the people who shape it. Working in oil and bronze, he seeks to portray the American West with honesty—unromanticized, enduring, and deeply human. Raised in western Nebraska, Bailey draws inspiration from the High Plains and from both historic and present-day ranch life. His subjects often reflect quiet moments of tension and resilience—riders, livestock, and weather shaping the rhythm of daily life. His sculptural work carries a similar weight, emphasizing form, gesture, and presence. Bailey’s process is grounded in firsthand experience and close observation. His interest in Plains material culture further informs his work, lending authenticity and depth to his compositions. A member of the Cowboy Artists of America, Bailey has earned recognition for work that balances technical strength with emotional truth. His paintings and sculpture offer a vision of the West that is both timeless and immediate.
