David Griffin
Born 1952 in Lubbock, Texas, lives in Dallas, Texas
AFTER STUDYING Fine Art at Texas Tech University, David Griffin was invited to participate in the first Illustrators’ Workshop, New York, where he studied with Bernie Fuchs, Mark English and Bob Peak. His work was recognized many times by the Illustrators’ Annual National Show during the 1980’s. In 1990, he began to paint professionally full time. Early on, he had the opportunity to study with Bettina Steinke and James Reynolds. His work has been featured in national publications including Cowboys and Indians, Victoria, The Dallas Morning News, Western Art Collector, Western Art and Architecture, Southwestern Art (cover feature Oct 2013 and again in Dec 2021).

2021 Birds in Art International Exhibition (Yawkey Woodson Museum in Wausau, WI)
2020 Selected as a Texas Centennial Artist to produce paintings for the 100th Anniversary of Texas State Parks. Opening exhibition was held at the Bullock Museum in Austin, Texas, and is touring to multiple state museums.
