Why We Serve Presentation with Guest Curators

July 13 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Join us for a curator-led presentation  of the exhibit “Why We Serve: Native Americans in the United States Armed Forces.”

The presentation features two visiting curators from the Smithsonian Institution National Museum of the American Indian (NMAI): Alexandra Harris, who curated “Why We Serve,” and Rebecca Trautmann, curator for the National Native American Veterans Memorial at the NMAI.

Why We Serve honors the generations of Native Americans who have served in the armed forces of the United States – often in extraordinary numbers – since the American Revolution.

Don’t miss this special behind-the scenes look at the exhibition!

Included with regular admission. Veterans, active-duty military, museum members and Indiana college students with campus ID have free admission.

Why We Serve is a traveling exhibition of the Smithsonian Institution National Museum of the American Indian. Artworks from the Eiteljorg Museum’s collections will supplement the NMAI exhibition, and engaging public programs are planned.

Included with regular admission.
