Members-Only Coffee & Conversations for Indigenous Peoples’ Day

Join David R. Boxley and Kandi McGilton Tsimshian, artists from Metlakatla, Alaska, as they discuss their culture and artistry. Both David and Kandi’s art is deeply rooted in their heritage. As passionate artists, their talents range from carvings to performances and cedar bark weavings. At a young age, David began carving under his father’s instruction. As an adult, he continues to express love and respect for his culture through art. Kandi, talented in many mediums, is perhaps best known for her award-winning devilfish bags (octopus bags).
