Member-Only Coffee & Conversation with artist Ephraim Anderson (Navajo/Diné)
September 19 @ 9:00 am - 10:00 am
Join artist in residence, Ephraim Anderson (Navajo/Diné), as he delves into the intricate artistry of weaving. Ephraim, a multi-disciplinary artist from the southwestern United States, is dedicated to preserving and revitalizing ancient arts through history and archaeology. His mission is to ensure these traditional crafts are not forgotten. By teaching the lost history and weaving techniques of his ancestors, Ephraim connects the next generation of southwestern indigenous weavers to their rich heritage. Utilizing various resources, he has reconstructed a 2000-year timeline of weaving technology and techniques, revealing a new narrative that celebrates the interconnectedness of the southwestern tribes’ ancestors.
