“Developing Stories” Opening Day Programs

March 30 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Join us in celebrating the opening of Developing Stories: Native Photographers in the Field with a day of exciting programs, including a tour, a photographers’ panel and a talk on blood quantum. Developing Stories is an exhibition originally organized by the Smithsonian Institution National Museum of the American Indian. Supported locally by the Lilly Endowment Inc., it’s open until July 7. Each photographer explores an issue of deep personal interest to them that touches the lives of Native people in a specific community.

Opening day programs are included with regular admission. Admission is free for members, veterans, and active service members.

11 a.m.: Join the photographers featured in Developing Stories, Russel Albert Daniels (Diné descent and Ho-Chunk descent), Tailyr Irvine (Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes), and Donovan Quintero (Diné), for a tour of the exhibition.

1 p.m.: Join the photographers for an exciting panel discussion where they will discuss their compelling works featured in the Developing Stories and where you will have the opportunity to learn more about their work and ask questions.
