Mesoamerican Dia de los Muertos

Join us at the Eiteljorg Museum for a hands-on, immersive learning experience centered around Mesoamerican Dia de los Muertos traditions! This engaging workshop is designed for youth participants (ages 8-10) to explore art, history, and science through the lens of this cultural celebration.

11:45 AM – 12:00 PM: Registration & Welcome for Youth Participants
12:00 PM – 2:30 PM: Hands-On Art, History, & Science Activities
– Activity 1: Mesoamerican Dia de los Muertos Origins – a scavenger hunt for historical insights
– Activity 2: Art: Cultural Collision – working with a guest artist to create representations of Mesoamerican and Spanish cultural fusion
– Activity 3: Mesoamerican STEM Challenges – hands-on science experiments building simple structures
2:30 PM – 3:00 PM: Yoga, Review, Closing, and Feedback Session
