INDIANAPOLIS – The Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art will be closed to visitors on Friday, Dec. 23. Hazardous travel conditions during and after the winter storm prompted the brief closure to ensure the safety of museum visitors, volunteers and staff.
The Eiteljorg management will monitor the weather conditions and determine Friday whether it would be safe to reopen on Saturday Dec. 24, Christmas Eve. While normal Saturday hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., potential visitors first should check the museum’s website, Eiteljorg.org, its social media accounts – Instagram, Facebook and Twitter – and local news media outlets for the latest on the Eiteljorg’s closure status.
The Eiteljorg already is scheduled to be closed on Sunday, Dec. 25, in observance of Christmas Day, irrespective of the weather.
