Indigenous Peoples’ Day – October 12, 2020

On Monday Oct. 12, the Eiteljorg Museum was the venue for a news conference where a proclamation by the Indianapolis City-County Council about Indigenous Peoples’ Day was read aloud.  Speaking at the news conference were Scott Shoemaker, Ph.D., (Miami Tribe of Oklahoma), who is the Thomas G. and Susan C. Hoback curator of Native American art, history and culture, and City-County Councillor Jason Larrison, who sponsored the proclamation.
