Join Eiteljorg Museum staff for a morning of coffee and conversation with Artist in Residence Emily Guerrero. As a storyteller and folk artist of Mexica indigenous ancestry, Emily is a dedicated and passionate advocate of cultural arts. Members will enjoy hearing how Emily embodies her ancestral traditions and encourages and inspires audiences to expand their knowledge of diverse cultures in their midst. At the same time, guests can participate in a hands-on activity. Emily is the founder of Mexica-Arts, a place to share the treasured traditions that the Mexica’s Indigenous ancestors maintained through the centuries. She has also served in various roles to develop culturally inclusive programs.

This event is free to Eiteljorg Museum members and includes complimentary coffee and donuts.

About Emily:
Mexica-Arts founder, Emily J. Guerrero, a storyteller, folk artist of Mexica indigenous ancestry. Emily embodies her ancestral traditions as she encourages and inspires audiences to expand their knowledge of diverse cultures in their midst. Her performances, installation arts and workshops for various age audiences offer insights to the diverse montage of the multicultural communities. She is a dedicated and passionate advocate of cultural arts. Throughout her career Emily has served as an advocate in leadership roles for development of culturally inclusive programs.
