Join artist in residence Glenda McKay, an Ingalik-Athabascan from Anchorage, Alaska, whose artistry in doll making is deeply rooted in her heritage and the teachings of her mother, grandmother, and aunts. From a young age, Glenda mastered skills such as embroidery, beading, trapping, snaring, tanning hides, and gathering natural materials, all of which have become integral to her craft. Known for her meticulous attention to detail and her commitment to personally gathering all the materials for her creations, Glenda has earned a distinguished reputation in the art world, and her work is not only a testament to her skill and dedication but also a passionate and articulate advocacy for her culture.
This event is open to Eiteljorg Museum members and includes complimentary coffee and donuts.
